The theatre play is an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s comedy “The importance of being Ernest”. Instead of late Victorian London it is set in Florence. The director’s decision for the Tuscan capital setting derives from some similarities in habits of Florentine society: “In matters of grave importance, style, not sincerity is the vital thing.

Oscar Wilde points out the societies hypocrisy, style over substance and that evoked in Susanne Ratschiller an image of an artificial life, thus she proposed a colourful “plastic-ambience” reminding the 60s.
