Customer’s request: consultancy about colours and lighting.
Our customer had already purchased the furniture and fixtures (all white), as well as the wall and floor covering.
We matched the wall paint and curtains to the chromatic shades of the coverings, in order to render the 70 square metre apartment an airy and harmonious place and to highlight the white furniture at the same time. The entrance and access room become a focal point due to their darker colour and act as a separating element between the adjacent rooms. The contrast between the mud-coloured wall and the large white built-in wardrobe makes the bedroom more welcoming and balanced and the wallpaper behind the bedside creates a three-dimensional feeling. The overall warm atmosphere is balanced by some cool colour accents.
For creating continuity we added some drywall boxes to the existing ones which hide the indirect LED lighting and the curtain tracks. It was not an easy job in a pending building (that happens in Pisa) with a ceiling slope of 5 cm over 10 metres.
Above the dining table: large, circle shaped pendant lamp in nickel coloured aluminium; behind the sofa: up-down wall lamp and adjustable reading lamp in the corner; access room: cube-shaped ceiling light, also visible from the kitchen; bedroom: transparent pendant lamp for general lighting and elegant tube-shaped suspension lamps to keep the bedside table tops clear.
