Susanne Ratschiller created this concepts for an Italian family with two adopted multi ethnical sons. The customers requested to maximise work space and stowage. The former kitchen had no dishwasher and was therefore fitted with a double sink that limited space on the work top.
The aesthetic concept was to integrate the boys’ different geographical and cultural origins in the overall image, that, together with the space definition concept led to three different design solutions:
Solution 1, ethnic mood – a low invasive solution, which only requires the hydraulic connections displacement. Large work space between refrigerator and cooktop.
Solution 2, urban mood – a minimal invasive solution in terms of construction works, the hydraulic connections remain in place, more stowage due to the over-top oven.
Solution 3, exotic mood – elegant and airy, the opening towards the dining room leaves room for a multifunctional island that facilitates communication. Large workspace.
